2nd Week of November

The majority of this weeks pictures are from the cell phone, sorry for the poor quality, but we've been on the go and are staying busy so the cell phone is all we've had most days!
We made it to the YMCA 6 days this week. Again, we are loving it. Gavin enjoys his time making new friends, I am thankful for my time alone to break a good sweat each day, and we're so thankful to be reunited at the end!
Gavin wants to give the dogs treats each day. He stands at the laundry room door saying "more" and I get out 3 treats each time. One to give each dog right away and one for Gavin to carry around for awhile. It's always a surprise which of the dogs will end up getting it. They are so nice to Gavin and never take it, just follow him around until he drops it.
A couple of us have started tanning a couple days a week after the gym. We look so funny having little parties outside the tanning facility. We take turns watching kids and tanning. The kids enjoy snack time, playing, watching elmo, etc. during that time. It can be stressful at times but it's working out pretty well.
Lots of playing this week!
And climbing anywhere possible!
We've been working on some of his puzzles together. This is how he did this puzzle all by himself. I was so impressed when he got the orange circle right, and I just love how he made the yellow square fit into the green oval slot. Hey, it fit! He's such a smart boy.
I include this picture to show you that it's true we need a little "man" back into our home. Jason, come home soon! Our son is a little into checking his weight on the scale each day, wearing this necklace around, and brushing his hair - Oh No!
Made a trip to the nearby Hilton Head Outlets one afternoon. Picked up a few GREAT deals on outfits for Gavin - we're heading to the Florida Keys from Dec 26-Jan 1 so I was excited to find these deals for $1.99 in size 18 months!!!
Also was excited to find a pair of SIZE 6 jeans that fit! I've been an 8-10 most of my adult life, so I'm pretty excited about these! They were 30% off and then I had a extra 20% off coupon so it wasn't a bad deal.
We found Gavin a toddler sized basketball in the Nike outlet, he hasn't put it down this week. We had to bring in his hand me down basketball net asap - might have a future basketball player on our hands. He's already working on his dunk!
Love this pic from this week, we rode with Melissa and her clan on night to go to a friends, the boys fell fast asleep at the same time on our way back home!
Another busy week! Until next time....

Nemo On Ice: Nov 8

I wanted to make Sunday a special day for Gavin, he started out with his first taste of Homemade French Toast for breakfast! It's a favorite of mine, so I had a feeling he would enjoy it! (How couldn't you with the cinnamon, powdered sugar, and syrup on top!?!) The hardest part was not having a bite of it myself! After a early nap, we headed downtown for Nemo on Ice! It was a spectacular show, Gavin sat through the whole show on my lap clapping and yelling out "Me-mo". I'm so glad I decided to take him.
Ready for the show to start.
We went with Dani/Nico/Mia, Neelee/Max, and Mary/Mason. You can see all the kids eyes are glued on the show.
And the show begins!
Bruce, with Dori and Nemo
The scary fish!
My favorite fish from the tank!
Afterwards we went to a nearby park to let the kids play together before dinner and heading home.
Enjoying one of Savannah's many fountains.

When we got home and put our pajamas on, Gavin playing in bed with my for a bit before going to his own bed. It was a fun was to end his special day. I love his little feet!
Jumping on the bed :)
Getting sleepy...
And, it's time for bed!
Kisses for daddy first.
Love you Gavin, hope your day was special.

Go Buckeyes!

Touchdown!
Texting his buddies the good news :)
Even his bear supported the Buckeyes last night!
Playing a little football of our own
Gavin wanted to let Penn State know they should probably pick another sport! Football is for the Buckeyes!
Daddy would be super, duper proud - he has his own little Ohio State and Jimmie Johnson fan waiting for him back home!
Gavin got a little excited about the game and pulled this down :( I had it hung a bit too low on the wall! He also managed to open the oven door on himself (at least it was off) and fall on the kitchen floor. I now know how to lock the oven. Our little monkey is climbing all over the place. I can't even imagine how it will be once we get Christmas decorations hung! I'm gonna drag out decorating for a couple more weeks!

1st Week of November

Sorry I've been slacking on the blog this week! We are staying busy, which isn't a bad thing :) The month of November started out with an AMAZING sunset here in Savannah. It was almost as though the sky was on fire. I hated that I wasn't home to take tons of pics, but I captured this out the window at a stop light while driving home from some errands. It made me miss Jas so much - I would have loved to be on the beach with him watching a sunset like that!
Later that night Gavin had a BLAST in the bath tub. He entertained himself for about 45 minutes. It was too cute! We even had to switch out the water to keep him warm. I took a couple videos, but can't seem to ever get them to upload on here anymore.
You can see above that he's pretty fond of one of his body parts. He calls it his "peepee". The funniest moment recently was when I was changing his diaper and he wanted to give his "peepee" a sip of his drink. How do you explain to a 13 month old that his penis doesn't need a drink?!? So funny!
Even after I emptied the tub, he didn't want any part of getting out!

I thought we were going to have a challenge with the time change, but Gavin has done great this week sleeping until about 7:30 (even 8am on occasion). I've kept him up about 30 minutes later at night, but it was worth it to me not to be up before 7am! I love his little sleepy head in the mornings. He gets out of bed ready for milk and books! It's a challenge to get him to even stop for a diaper change. This week I've been transitioning him to one long nap a day. It's going really well. He goes down around 1pm (after lunch) and sleeps till about 3:30. It's a great mid day break for me and he's doing well with it. Hope it sticks!

We had a SUPER healthy grocery shopping trip this week! I tried to only stay on the outside edge (produce, meat, eggs) and not hit any of the isles. It made for a quick shopping trip (but more expensive) but it feels so good being really healthy. I was getting in the habit of just giving Gavin Gerber Graduate meals all the time, but this is causing me to really make better choices for he and I, so I'm pleased. Last night we had grilled pork chops, brown rice, and steamed Broccoli. Tonight's menu is chicken fajitas with red and green peppers! These are the moments I wish I had a $500 gift card to Fresh Market to just go wild on great food! :) We also joined the YMCA last week and are LOVING it! We went 6 days this week! I take kickboxing, weight lifting, and pilates classes that are fantastic. Gavin goes to the childcare and I'm so impressed with it. They all know him by name and take the time to play ball with him, etc. Today when I picked him up every kid turned and said "BYE GAVIN" - it made my heart smile! He is making new friends! He didn't even notice me come in today because he was having so much fun.
Last night we had some friends over to hangout. Gavin and Nico were hilarious going from one chair to another and both trying to fit in it!

Bed time! They watched a little of Nemo to settle before bed. It was hilarious when we turned around and Gavin was laying in Nico's lap and Nico was rubbing his head. We'll be sure to keep that story from the dads - not sure they would be too impressed!
I'll try to be a better blogger next week! Tomorrow we are going to Nemo on Ice at 2pm!

A few more from Halloween

Here are a few more from Halloween! The adults had to participate also! :)
Dani as Big Bird, me as Ernie, Melissa as Bert, and Melissa's mom as Cookie Monster!
It was HOT outside... we were miserable!
I hate to admit that it was my idea and yet I was the first to shed my costume. I just couldn't take the mask and the heat!
Bert and Ernie
Our whole trick or treating clan!

Happy Halloween!

First, a flash back to LAST YEAR!

Onto 2009...

a MUCH skinnier mommy and a much bigger boy!

We had so much fun at the McGee Halloween Party! We played on the swing set, the bouncy house, ate way too much food, and then went trick or treating, and played a lot. It was a great evening.
Bouncy House!

Nico on the swing set
Batman and Bat mom!

Gavin snuck his first piece of candy while we were walking (we didn't collect candy, but he got it from the basket we were handing out to other kids!) This Nemo was Reagan's last year - we LOVE hand me downs!
Here is Nemo's buddy, Bruce (aka Nico!) They were quite the duo.
Hanging out with Kenzie before we all headed home.
Jason was able to call before we left and talk to Gavin. Gavin told him "I'm Me-mo", it was so cute! We hope one of these years Jason will be able to join in trick or treating!
