More Snow/Driving Home

Monday morning we awoke to more snow!!! It was so pretty and we sure would have loved to be snowed in another day or two, but unfortunately Jason's job wouldn't quite allow that! We did stay until lunch time though, as Jason did a few things around the house before we left. Gavin and I took the opportunity to take a bath in the big jacuzzi tub - Gavin loved all the bubbles!!! GG made a delicious breakfast - and we stuffed ourselves. Even Gavin ate a ton. He also had cantaloupe for the first time and LOVED it. I think he ate two huge slices. We headed home around 1:30pm our time... we made it home by 9pm. Gavin was so excited to be home with his toys, he wasn't in any mood to sleep. We unpacked the car and played basketball for a bit with him, then all got some much needed shut eye. Though it went by too fast, our trip to Tennessee was great!

He loves when I wrap him in a "big boy" towel after his baths.... he wants to be like daddy!

To GG's House We Go

Happy Valentine's Day!
We spent our day with church, lunch at Mexican, packing the car, and then heading on the road for TN Vacation Part II: Crossville!
Breakfast with Reagan before church
Isabella and Ella danced to the music at Don Panchos
Isabella was into it!
So sweet
When we arrived in Crossville we relaxed and GG made a delicious dinner of roast, carrots, potato casserole, and asparagus. It was so yummy! They had picked out a puppy cake for Gavin for Valentine's Day and a belated birthday cake. We even sang to Gavin! (1st birthday fun never gets old). Thanks for the delicious dinner and cake.
After dinner we got in our cozy clothes and all went to bed early. We were sleepy from our travels!

Family Photo Sessions & Dinner

Beware... LOTS of photos to follow! This morning I was able to sneak away for a quiet two hours alone at my old hair salon. It was great! Jason and Kaylee took Gavin to visit our friends, Paula and David, while I was at the appointment. I was jealous I couldn't go, but my hair really needed some attention! I had caramel hi lights put in and had them do some short layers. I love that my hair is finally getting long, but it was just too heavy and the layers really help! Afterwards we headed to the Clarksville Train Station to take Ashley and Adrian's engagement pictures. While we waited for them I went ahead and took some sweet sixteen pictures for Kaylee to get my camera settings right and to pick out good locations. We had fun - Kaylee is the best model, she knows the poses, the facial expressions, has cute outfits, and really gets into it. I never have a hard time photographing her. Ashley and Adrian cracked me up during their whole session. Adrian wanted to be like Brad Pitt and Ashley was so nervous - they finally warmed up to the camera and did great. I love how the pictures turned out! After our photo session we all headed back to the parents house for a big dinner - Joe & Cara were already there when we got there, and soon after Michelle & Patrick, Lauren & Morgan joined. It was so nice having all of us under one roof for a few hours. I hate that Gavin barely knows his aunts/uncles and cousins, but we do our best. Later Joe, Cara, and the Shiflet clan headed out, but the rest of us stayed and partied it up into the morning hours. We laughed so much! The guys played cards, Ashley and I practiced dances for her wedding (we need lots of practice!) but we are getting a hang of the Cha Cha Slide, Macarena, and the Cupid Shuffle! Ashley showed us a few other dance skills of hers (which I secretly got on tape) - ONE DAY this video will come out again!!! Thanks for the laughs - this was a fun evening!

Jason took Gavin to the playground while we did photographs!

Snow in Tennessee

We got a very late start on our drive to Tennessee since Jason was so busy at work. We were finally on the road by 6:45pm Thursday night and took turns driving. I took the first 4 hour shift since Jason had been at work since 5am so he could nap. Gavin slept most of the drive which was great. When we arrived we woke everyone up. Since Gavin slept most of the drive he was ready to wake up and play! Michael was so funny, when I woke him up he got dressed and put his shoes on, thinking it was morning! Eventually we all got settled back in bed and sort of slept in on Friday (as much as the kiddos would allow). Friday morning we stayed around the house and went out to enjoy what was left of the snow. Gavin wasn't too much of a fan for some reason. Later we did some shopping and then came back home for dinner. Ashley, Adrian, and Isabella came over for dinner as well. Later, Ashley & Adrian, Jason & I, and Kaylee headed downtown to the Blackhorse and were joined by Paula & David. We had a great time catching up!
