When we left Savannah, GA it was sunny and 73 degrees. When we arrived in the North Country it was in the low 20's with lots of snow!!!

The Long Drive...
Thursday afternoon we began our long trip to NY. We stopped along the way and had coffee with Jason's great aunt Linda in Fayetteville and also had dinner with some of our old neighbors Chad, Kelli, and Jayda and my old co-worker Amanda. It was so good to see them! We have so many more people we wanted to see there, but will have to see them on our drive back home. It's hard to cram so many visits into one day when we have so far to go! After our stop in Fayetteville we continued on our drove until 2am... (Gavin fell asleep by 8:30pm and it was smooth sailing from there!) We wanted to stop at 12:30 but couldn't find a decent hotel. Once we found some, it was so hard finding one that would accept LT! But, we finally found one somewhere in Maryland... only to get settled in our room and discover that we had no running hot water. A phone call to the front desk earned us a upgrade to a suite... too bad we couldn't enjoy the fancy room since we were on such a time crunch! We finally crashed around 4am and were back on the road by 9am.
Friday we made it to Syracuse, NY to pick up Paula and David at the airport by 3:30pm... only to discover that they had flown into the wrong airport and they were in Buffalo! DANG. They rented a car to make the 3 hour drive and we headed on to Ft. Drum without them. We finally arrived around 5:30pm after 2 full days of driving. We had a nice dinner and then Jason and Starla headed back to Syracuse to pick up Lindsey. Poor Jason... more driving! I got Gavin ready for bed and waited for Paula and David to arrive. We hung out in the kitchen and talked until they returned from the airport. By 11:15pm we were all together in the same city finally! Jeff called and we all spoke to him on speaker phone before bed. Let's hope our bad luck with long travels is over and that we will have a great week!
Gavin FINALLY took a bottle on the car ride. I've been trying to get him to accept a bottle for months now, with no success. I'm not sure what finally led to him accepting it, but I was relieved. I've been stressing leaving him over night in March since he wouldn't take a bottle, but now I'm not worried! It was also nice to be able to pump and give him 2 bottles without stopping the rest of the trip!

I'm glad you guys made it up there safely! And that's great that Gavin took a bottle for you finally. I can't get Benjamin to take one at all either. Let us girls know when and if you guys will be stopping in Fayetteville again on your way back home and maybe we can all meet up! It would be great to see you and to meet Gavin!
